Terms & Conditions

Definition of Freight Broker

A company that forwards or facilitates and assures the passage of freight to their destination. Freight brokers find trucking companies (carriers) to ship their customer’s goods. They make sure that these carriers are licensed and insured and will ship these goods in a timely manner and in the safest possible way.

Definition of Carrier

A fully licensed & insured trucking company that transports freight. They are subject to all state & Federal rules, laws & regulations. They are fully responsible for the transportation & delivery of the customer’s cargo.

Definition of Customer

You agree to be a customer of Czechmate Logistics when you register to receive quotes and use our service. As our customer you are responsible for providing accurate information regarding your shipment as noted in the “rates” section.

Bill of Lading

A legal document between the shipper, receiver and carrier of a particular load of freight detailing the type, quantity pick up point and destination of the freight being carried. A bill of lading is, in addition to a receipt for the delivery of goods, the contract for their movement and a document of title to them. The bill of lading also becomes the receipt of the shipment when the freight is delivered to its destination. This document must stay with the shipped freight regardless of how it’s shipped. The bill of lading is signed by all parties involved in the carriage of the freight (shipper, carrier and receiver).

All rates quoted by Czechmate logistics are based on information provided by the customer & must be accurate to prevent re-billing by the carrier.

To be accurate, the following information is needed:

  • Zip codes. (Noted as residential or commercial)
  • Accurate size & weight.
  • Class code & or commodity.
  • Type of packaging.
  • Is it palletized? If so, how many?
  • Total weight
  • Need for services above the basic transportation needs (lift gate, residential, driver assist, call ahead etc.).

Less than Truckload (LTL) Rates

Less than Truckload (LTL) rates are based on information provided by the customer. These include pickup & delivery zip codes (to determine distance), size & overall weight, freight class code as determined by the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC).

Full Truckload Rates

Based on dock-to-dock pickup & delivery and are to be considered “driver no touch” loads. Additional charges may apply for services such as driver unload/assist, detention. Detention may be charged when a carrier is held at either the shipper or receiver for more than 2 (two) hours. A cancellation charge of up to $250 shall be charged for all loads that are cancelled after the driver has been dispatched to the pickup point.

Assessorial Charges

Assessorial charges will apply when services are provided by the carrier that are above the basic transportation services of freight shipment and have not been ordered by the customer at time of rate request. These include and are not limited to residential pickup or delivery $85, lift gate service $125, phone call before pickup or delivery $30.

Payment Terms

All customers are subject to credit approval. Charges are due upon receipt or pre-determined terms. All major Credit/Debit Cards, ACH Transfer are acceptable methods of payment. Any payment, which is past due, will incur late payment interest at the rate of 1.5% per month of the average outstanding balance.

Re-billing by Carrier

It is imperative that the customer provide accurate information when requesting a quote & tendering freight. The carrier reserves the right to adjust the rate if they determined that the size, weight, class code or pickup or destination information or omitting the need for any assessorial services provided by the customer was inaccurate.

Loss or Damage Claims

Customer must notify Czechmate Logistics in writing immediately to begin the process of filing any loss claim. We will use all reasonable efforts to help the customer in a timely manner. Filing a claim does not relieve the customer of paying for freight charges. Freight payment is required in order to file a claim. Customer may not delay nor reduce freight charges against any claims for any loss, damage or delivery issues. Contact Czechmate for information on the carrier’s insurance or liability.

Forum Selection & Choice of Law

Any claim, dispute or litigation relating to all of the terms & conditions set forth by Czechmate Logistics & agreed to by the customer, shipper or receiver by tendering freight through the company to any carrier will hold Czechmate Logistics harmless for all services rendered. The customer understands that their shipment was arraigned for & performed by a freight carrier & not Czechmate Logistics. All parties understand that any claim or dispute between the customer & Czechmate Logistics shall be filed in the appropriate court in Hillsborough County, State of Florida, USA. Customer is responsible for legal fees.

Terms & Conditions- Czechmate Logistics reserves the right to change or amend any of the terms & conditions agreed to by the customer for their use of any services of the company. Any changes shall be effective immediately & shall be displayed on our website in addition to any means that the customer receives their mail. If the customer continues to use the services of Czechmate Logistics, they are agreeing to the new terms set forth.
